Obituary for Kelsey Lana Hill

Kelsey Lana Hill
HILL, Kelsey Lana – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our most beautiful daughter and sister on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at the age of 13, after a courageous and fearless battle with cancer. Kelsey was the precious daughter of Derek and Lana, and sister to Megan, Corrie and Maxwell. Granddaughter of Lois Hill of Fort Erie and Walter and Joanne Martin of Six Nations. Kelsey will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins. She will be missed by all of her friends from both Stevensville Public School and McMaster Children’s Hospital. During her fight, Kelsey remained true to her character by leading Team Kelsey in raising brain tumour awareness and funds for the Ronald McDonald House – Hamilton; Alivia’s Rainbows; Heaters Heroes; Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada; Terry Fox Run; Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada; Camp Good Days and Kids Are Heroes organization. Kelsey loved attending school, playing piano, singing to Taylor Swift, playing golf, tennis, Uno and Wii with the family. A very special thank you to the Dreamcatcher Foundation and Stevensville Public School and family and friends for their support given to Kelsey while she battled. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House – Hamilton (www.helpourhomegrow.ca) or to Alivia’s Rainbows (www.aliviasrainbows.com) in Kelsey’s honour.
Family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 722 Ridge Road North, Ridgeway, on Friday evening from 6:00 to 9:00. A celebration of Kelsey’s life will be held in the chapel on Saturday morning at 11:00 o’clock. Kelsey was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. We love Kelsey deeply and will cherish the time we had with her . . . just keep swimming Kelsey.
