Obituary for Ruth Vivian Loudermilk (White)

Ruth Vivian White Loudermilk passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 11, 2011 in Marietta, GA. Ruth was born to Rueben and Nora White on May 8, 1926 in Ducktown, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, C.S. Loudermilk, and her son-in-law Ron Davenport. Ruth was a member of First Baptist Church of McCaysville/Copperhill. Ruth worked at Copper Basin Medical Center for more than 30 years and was greatly fulfilled in her role serving the community. She loved helping people and found this to be a very rewarding career. She was a good friend to all in need, recently being described by her closest friends as "a genuine replica of kindness" and "a truly special lady". Ruth held her family near to her heart and instilled that sense of family in all of her children. Her very favorite time of year was Christmas and her family would like to encourage everyone to make this a very special Christmas this year.

Ruth will be missed by her devoted family, daughter Sharon Davenport of Marietta, GA, daughter and son-in-law Karen and Rick Posey of Alpharetta, GA, niece Lisa and David Adkissson of Copperhill, TN, grandsons and their families, Greg & Angie Davenport and Matt and Deneshia Davenport, six great grandchildren, Jackson, Hala, Madelaine, Ellie Ruth, Kate, and Ryan Davenport, all of Marietta, GA and sister in law, Polly Kaylor of Ducktown, TN.

Funeral services are being handled by Finch Cochran Funeral Home in McCaysville, GA on Wednesday, December 14, 2011. The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 1:00pm. and the funeral will be held at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mathew McDaniel officiating. Pallbearers will be Greg Davenport, Matt Davenport, Rick Posey, David Adkisson, Bobby Danner and Greg Dean. Interment will be at Zion Hill Baptist Church.
