Condolence From: Tom Fuller
Condolence: Hi you guys. You know how I fell about your Dad. Definitely one of my favorite people. The anecdote that first came to mind was the time he was doing guard duty as a young policeman. It was the middle of the night and President Truman, who was a severe insomniac, invited your Dad in to his hotel room to talk. What a special time that must have been. All the best, Tom Fuller

Condolence From: Paul Meyers
Condolence: I recently heard of Howard's passing and was saddened by it. Howard or as I'll always remember him "Capt" always had time for a younger officer, and in trying times always offered words of encouragement. This was a great man, and his passing a loss to many.

Condolence: Our deepest sympathy to all members of the Gardner family. We are long time members of the B&W Club and have known Howard for years. He was always a highlight at convention with his jokes and good natured kidding during the auctions. We have missed him at recent conventions and will miss him even more as he has left us for the B&W collectors club in heaven where he will rejoin his loving wife. David & Debbie Hays - Mexico, MO

I still can hear his wonderful laugh. It was always so special to spend time with both Aunt Janet and Uncle Howard. . .and they continue to hold a very special place in my heart. Now they are once together again in heaven! You are all in my prayers at this difficult time. I truly know that all the tremendous memories of him will help as the days and weeks move forward - in this new life without him. Condolence From: Pierre Saba
Condolence: Would like to offer my prayers for the family and friends of Capt.Gardner. I was fortunate enough to remember when he would appear on with Dr. Max and Mombo. He had instilled in me an ethical standard of law and citizenship, that is with me today and that was part of the fabric of growing up and taking on personal responsibilities. He personified that role model character with class and respect for that badge. Thank you for your service Captain. May his memory be eternal.

Condolence: I love you very much, gramps, and I will miss you. Thank you for taking me to Playtime Poppy shows. You took me to one where I was chosen to go on stage and turn a cartwheel. It was a life changing moment for me and as you know I have continued to take the stage since then. Thank you for always coming to help me, without fail, when I needed a ride or was locked out of the house. I will really miss your puns and your goofy laugh. Love you, gramps.

Condolence From: Sheronicks
Condolence: Linda, Nancy, and Glenn, please accept our sympathy on your dad's passing. He always had a smile on his face and a funny comment during those good old days when we were hanging out at your house when we were kids. It really meant a lot to us when he came to our dad's funeral a few years ago. He may have been a "tough guy" on the surface, but he was a a real decent human being through and through. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
